2013-03-12 (12)Master, I seek that light which shines in the heart, invisible to the eye, blazing like a thousand suns.

I want that illumination that shines behind all things.

That sun behind the sun.

Grant me the fortitude, the discipline, the renunciation, the devotion to be worthy of this quest.

Grant me freedom from desire and clinging, from ignorance and want, that I may enter into that most blessed state, but not for myself.

May I do it for the world. May we all do it for the world.

May I have the desire to return to this world countless times if I can in any way be of service to others.

May a spring of compassion and loving-kindness well up in me.

May I experience the suffering of others, and may I understand its source, and know that my own suffering is no different.

May I strive constantly and diligently to attain to the highest wisdom that I may serve others with no thought for myself.

May I work without ego, without pride, without selfish desire, and with the attitude that my life is not my own, but a trust given me for a time.

May I constantly express sincere gratitude for my many blessings.

May all beings have this same wish, that suffering may be wiped out entirely.

Peace, peace, peace be unto all.

Seeking the One

Seeking the OneHow should I come to you? In your infinite Grace, tell me.

Should I kneel before you, forehead to the floor, worshipping your holy feet, calling you “Master” and serving you as a willing slave?

Should I call you “Mother” or “Father,” give you candies and sweets, sing little songs for you and fuss when you don’t listen to me?

Should I pine for you, weep for you, desire none other but you and call you “sweetheart” and “Beloved? ”

Should I confide in you and call you my confidant, trust you and love you and converse with you always, laughing at your jokes and loving your company?

Should I call you “Truth,” “the Goal,” “the unconditioned,” “the One without a second,” seeking your peace in the depths of my being, your infinitude in the emptiness of my self?

Why should I have to choose? You tell me. I only want to dedicate my every breath to you.

Anything else is more than I deserve.

Peace, peace, peace be unto all.
